Safety and Health Manual

All employees should immediately notify Prudent Electric Inc. of any work related incidents or accidents!

Any incidents reported later than 24hrs after the incidient are not acceptable and will be rejected!

 

Copy of all accident investigation reports shall be submitted to Prudent Electric Inc. This should be done within 24 hours after the accident.

 

Rule #1: YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO WORK INTOXICATED AND OR HIGH ON ANY SUBSTANCE INCLUDING WEED(i don't care if it is legal, it is not legal on my jobs)! 

 

Employees:
1. Obtain written approval before beginning any hazardouse or live work.
2. Follow all Safety Rules required by OSHA. 
3. Follow emergency instructions.
4. Maintain a safe and controlled work area.
5. Comply with Control of Hazardous Energy (Lockout/Tagout) and/or Electrical Safety when servicing or maintaining equipment.
6. Not activate Emergency Power Off buttons except in an emergency.
7. Obey all posted signs.
8. Use/wear appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) for the job.
PPE such as safety glasses, goggles, respirators, hart hats, and protective clothing shall be worn as determined by the degree of exposure to the potential hazard.
9. Report imminent danger or hazardous conditions/acts to the site supervisor or Prudent Electric Inc. for immediate correction.
10. Not enter restricted areas without authorization and/or escort.
11. Barricade work areas that expose non-associated personnel to hazards.
12. Use the correct sized ladders, step stools, or access stairways to obtain items beyond reach. Furniture or equipment must not be used in place of a ladder.

 

Electrical work shall be in compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements including but not limited to:
1. The National Electric Code (NEC)
2. OSHA 29 CFR 1910.331 through 1910.335 and/or 1926.416 and 1926.417 for electrical safety-related work practices.
3. OSHA 29 CFR 1910, Subpart S and/or 1926, Subpart K for electrical work.
4. OSHA 29 CFR 1910.137 and 1910.269 for electrical power generation, transmission, and distribution work.
5. National Fire Protection Association 70E - Electrical Safety in the Workplace. (Including PPE and tool requirements for electrical work)

 

Jewelry shall not be worn when working on live electrical circuits.

 

Proper personal protective equipment must be used for work with live equipment or wiring! (Gloves, mats, insulating blankets, safety hooks, safety glasses and/or faceshields, etc.)
